Take 20 Minutes Each Day To Read Through God's Word In 2016 & 2017
For 2016 & 2017, we have developed a completely new Bible reading plan and format! On most days throughout the year, it will only take you about 20 minutes to complete each day’s Bible reading. We trust that you will find this new Take 20 to be even more useful as you read and listen to the Word of God this year!
The Bible is God’s Word to us. It reveals God to us, shows us the way to be saved, brings us into a greater experience of friendship with God, and is a primary means of grace in our spiritual formation. This plan is created to assist us in the regular reading of the Bible that we might grow in our relationship with God and with one another as it changes us.
UNIQUE FEATURES
Reading on a Two-Year Cycle. For this year’s Take 20, we will continue a schedule (which we started in 2016) that includes, for most days, a shorter selection from the Old Testament, and a more intensive reading of the New Testament.
Use of Repetition to Strengthen Comprehension. In two years, you will read the New Testament six times, the Old Testament once, and the Psalms twice.
Days of Reflection and Make-up. Every Sunday you will read a short selection of Psalms, and use the rest of your time to catch up (if you need to) and reflect on what you have been reading.
